Our journey began in 2016, when four visionaries combined their knowledge and over 15 years of experience in ginger and turmeric cultivation to found Elisur Organic. Kristel Camargo (Food Industries Engineer), Caleb Alcalá (Economist), Fredy Mauricio (Farmer), and Wildo Ramírez (Farmer) shared a bold vision: to become the leading ginger and turmeric company in Peru.

In 2017, we took a major step forward by establishing our processing plant and achieving organic certification— a milestone made possible by the dedication of our team and our network of farmers, who have been at the heart of our growth ever since.With passion and vision, we embarked on our export journey, bringing the best of our land directly to Canada, Spain, the Netherlands, and the United States.

In 2018, we achieved our GlobalG.A.P. and GRASP certifications— a milestone that allowed us to expand our exports and grow our incredible team. We have always been committed to fair and formal employment, ensuring full compliance with labor regulations.

In 2019, we made our debut at Fruit Logistica, Biofach, and Fruit Attraction, bringing our vision to the global stage. That year, we strengthened our traceability system, ensuring the origin of every kilogram of ginger and turmeric from the field to its final destination. This achievement allowed us to enter Germany for the first time—one of the most demanding markets in the world.

In 2020, we solidified our position among the TOP 5 ginger and turmeric exporters in Peru. That same year, PromPerú recognized our efforts and growth, awarding us the title of “Exporter of the Year” for the Central Macro Region of Peru.

In 2021, Ginger Week was born—an event designed to bring together all key players in the ginger supply chain through an online platform.That same year, we launched “Inaquipatsi”, the first ginger and turmeric field school, providing specialized knowledge directly to farmers on their own land. This initiative helped improve their fields and create greater benefits for their families.

In 2022, our Fairtrade product arrived in the United States for the first time, creating new opportunities and greater benefits for farming families.Our processing plant continued its growth and modernization, allowing us to achieve HACCP certification, ensuring the highest food safety standards.

In 2023, Ginger Week evolved from an online event to a hybrid in-person format, thanks to co-organization with ADEX, marking a milestone in the industry.That same year, we achieved SMETA certification and SENASA’s plant certification, reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility and quality.

In 2024, we obtained DEMETER and BRC certifications, shipped our first certified containers to Germany, and grew to over 160 formal workers. Elisur Organic remains among the top 5 ginger and turmeric exporters in Peru.
